There’s something in Wilmington’s water supply and it’s not just the forever chemicals. Self-belief, optimism, and a desire for individuality all trickle into the music of coastal North Carolina indie rock band Fudge. Influenced by the anthemic bands of the past, the group hits the sweet spot of unfamiliar and uncharted territory with music that sounds fresh, but simultaneously feels like it was always there. If they didn’t write “Hanging On” someone else would’ve, but it certainly wouldn’t sound this sweet.
